Jonathan Simon’s real estate journey began at Queens College, where he spent his summers acquiring hands-on construction experience. After graduating, he ventured into real estate brokerage, specializing in commercial and residential properties in New York. His expertise grew in project management, particularly in pharmaceutical and office buildouts, leading him to join Eastern Properties’ Cedarbrook team. As Vice President, he now plays a crucial role in overseeing and designing construction projects.
Since joining Eastern Properties in 2021, Moshe Kurtz has expertly managed financial operations for the company’s extensive portfolio, including 2 million square feet of commercial property. His responsibilities encompass daily cash management, financial reporting, and overseeing payables, receivables, and payroll functions. Mr. Kurtz also manages corporate insurance and annual audits, playing a vital role in strategic planning and operational enhancement. He holds a BA from Beth Medrash Govoha and an MS in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University, graduating with high honors.
Shaye Stern, a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, serves as the Chief Legal Officer at Eastern Properties. With a robust legal background complemented by a Master’s in Talmudic Law from Beth Medrash Govoha, Mr. Stern brings a unique blend of legal expertise and ethical considerations to his role. His responsibilities include overseeing all legal aspects of the company’s operations, from contract negotiations to compliance and risk management, ensuring that Eastern Properties adheres to the highest standards of legal integrity.
Daniel Zahler recently joined Eastern Properties as Controller, bringing with him a keen analytical mind and a comprehensive background in financial management. In his role, Mr. Zahler is responsible for overseeing the financial operations, including auditing, budgeting, and financial planning. His precision in financial reporting and strategy implementation ensures the financial health of the company’s diverse real estate portfolio.
Robert Acosta, who joined Eastern Properties in 1985, directs property management for the company’s substantial office and laboratory complexes in Middlesex County, New Jersey. His extensive experience ensures operational excellence in maintenance and construction, contributing significantly to tenant satisfaction. Mr. Acosta’s leadership encompasses both the Cedarbrook Corporate Center and Eastpark at 8A, maintaining high standards across all facilities.
